Skyli Alvarez is a New York-based freelance writer and documentary photographer. She was most recently the editorial assistant at Teen Vogue, where she copy edited, pitched, photographed, and wrote stories across the realms of style, culture, and identity. She holds a B.A. in Journalism and Art History from the University of Georgia, and her words and photos have been published in Vogue Japan, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Polyester Zine, Condé Nast’s Mixed Feelings newsletter, and more.
Through image and text, she has crafted features on friends who forego texts for sending letters; young corporate goths who challenge traditional office-wear; and what can be learned from 100-year-old clothing.
